Greetings From Witness Protection is a hilarious—but mysterious—novel about a girl named Nicki Demere. Nicki lives in a foster care nicknamed the Center, changing from foster home to foster home, never sticking for long before she gets sent back to the Center. However one day her life changes drastically. Two agents from WITSEC the government witness protection program come to collect Nicki and explain their plan: Put Nicki in with the Sirecuzza family so it would be harder for any criminals to find them, expecting to find a family of three, but instead with Nicki added into the equation, they would become a family of four.
The agents Janice and Eddie take Nicki to a special WITSEC training center where she meets the family and then gets sent to North Carolina to try and fit in as a regular girl with a B- average and two points per basketball game. Throughout the book, Nicki has to juggle her school work along with keeping her family safe.
I really liked this book because it has the perfect recipe for a beautiful and heartwarming novel. There is the mystery and suspense along with the fabulous humor mixed together to the perfect consistency topped with a light sprinkle of facts and friendship and finally, dipped in a heartfelt sauce. Together, they make one of the best books I have ever read.
