She cautioned that he must wait to grow up before he used the magic-like ball that would give him the ability to live forever in the same body. Loki: A Bad God’s Guide to Being Good by Louie Stowell
Loki: A Bad God’s Guide to Being Good is an excellent and hilarious book about the Norse god Loki. Some people may know Loki as the person from a movie or television show or others may know him from books such as this one. However, Stowell writes uniquely writes about Loki’s time in Midgard, known to us mortals as “Earth” and about his punishment and even a little bit of rescuing during Loki’s stay on Earth, him doing the rescuing and the other way around as well.

The Bad Guys by Aaron Blabey
Along with the release of The Bad Guys movie, I’ve decided to write a review about the book. (Yes, there is a book.) The Bad Guys were one of my favorite comics in the second grade. It had sharks, snakes, wolves, and even a piranha, but most significantly, laughs. The whole book was filled with them, it included tooting piranhas and more.

The Good Thieves by Katherine Rundell is a beautifully written novel about a girl named Vita. Vita travels by boat with her mom to her grandpa’s apartment in New York to try to persuade him to return to Europe with them. However, as Vita is there, she realizes that her grandpa’s castle on the Hudson River is in danger of being taken from him by a vicious man named Sorrotore. Vita assembles a team of three other people to try to win Hudson Castle back.

Kay’s Marvellous Medicine: A Gross and Gruesome History of the Human Body by Adam Kay is one of the most informative and hilarious books on medicine I’ve ever read. Each chapter has multiple subsections in which Kay writes about how different people tried to cure diseases with crazy medicines. There are multiple different eras which Kay writes about, including Ancient Greece, the Middle Ages (that Kay has deemed Sparkle Time because “the Middle Ages” sounded too boring), and more.

The House With Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson is a beautifully written novel that is somehow uplifting and heartbreaking at the same time. The main character, a girl named Marinka, lives in a house with her grandmother, a Yaga. Her grandmother, who she calls baba, guides the dead into the afterlife and is a guardian of the gate between life and death. The two travel the world in their house with chicken legs, traveling from place to place to calm the dead into the afterlife.
